Meaning – to kiss (old-fashioned – watch out for modern meaning*)
Pronunciation – beh-zey
Les hommes ne baisent plus les mains des femmes – Men don’t kiss women’s hands any more
(* When used out of this context baiser is usually interpreted as a vulgar version of ‘faire l’amour’ or ‘to make love’. This being a family friendly site we’re not going to type it, but we think you know what we mean! To keep out of trouble it is best to use embrasser)
